Raccoon Removal and Prevention
Raccoon Removal
Animal trapping is commonly used for nuisance wildlife such as skunks, woodchucks, opossums, rats, raccoons, and porcupines. Customers pay an initial service fee for a technician to inspect the area and/or set traps as appropriate. After traps are set, customers are charged a fee for each animal trapped.
Customers are responsible for checking traps each morning and calling our office to report any trapped animals. A technician will then return to remove the animal and reset, re-bait, or remove traps as needed. In situations where an animal may be inside a building or enclosed area, a one-way door may be installed in addition to trapping for an additional fee.
Please note: there is no guarantee that animals will be caught or that new animals will not become a nuisance later.
Return Visit Policy
If the target animals return within two (2) weeks of the technician’s last visit, Advanced Wildlife Control will reset traps at no additional charge (although there is still a charge for any animals trapped).
Trapping Programs
Trapping “programs” are typically set up for chipmunks, moles/voles, and mice. These programs are billed as a weekly service and include 1–3 technician visits per week to check traps, remove trapped animals, and reset or remove traps as appropriate. Additional weeks can usually be purchased as needed at a lower cost than the initial week.
Trapping programs are generally a form of population control and are not guaranteed to permanently eliminate targeted animals. Pricing and methods vary depending on the situation and the wildlife or rodents involved. Please call for more information.

Racoon Preventive Services
Raccoon prevention focuses on eliminating access points and attractants that allow raccoons to return. Our prevention services include identifying and securing entry points such as rooflines, soffits, vents, chimneys, and crawl spaces, as well as recommending changes to food sources and shelter around the property. When combined with professional removal, these preventative measures significantly reduce the likelihood of future raccoon activity.

Raccoon Removal FAQs
How do I know if I have a raccoon problem?
Common signs include heavy footsteps in attics or walls, loud noises at night, torn insulation, damaged soffits or vents, and overturned trash cans. Raccoons are nocturnal, so activity is often most noticeable after dark.
Are raccoons dangerous to people or pets?
Raccoons can carry rabies and roundworm, and they may become aggressive if cornered or protecting young. Pets are at risk if they encounter raccoons, especially near food sources or nesting areas.
Can I trap and remove a raccoon myself?
DIY trapping is not recommended. Improper trapping can lead to injuries, property damage, or violations of local wildlife regulations. Professional trapping ensures the animal is handled humanely and legally.
Why do raccoons keep coming back to my property?
Raccoons return when food sources, shelter, or access points remain available. Open trash containers, pet food, unsecured vents, and roof openings commonly attract repeat activity without proper exclusion.
Is raccoon removal guaranteed to be permanent?
No wildlife removal service can guarantee permanent results. However, combining professional trapping with exclusion and prevention measures greatly reduces the likelihood of future raccoon problems.
