So what does “Wildlife Prevention” actually mean anyway?!?!

WHAT
If you spend any time at all listening to our podcasts or reading our posts and blogs, then you’ve heard or seen us mention “Prevention”.
Well, in the simplest form, it’s just that preventing something from happening or continuing to happen.

But what it entails is far more complex…
When you have something invading your home, whether it’s mice or squirrels or bats even giraffe’s, we need to find out where and how, and then come up with an individual plan for YOUR home to PREVENT the pattern.

DID YOU KNOW
These many of these critters can enter a hole the size of the end of your pinky (not the giraffes).

DO THIS
Go stand outside your home to look at it, now look at the end of your pinky, how many spots could that fit??? Exactly!
So, that’s what we do. We find those points from the top of your roof to the ground, and we address them. Occasionally, it’s an opening that’s visible, but not being used, other times they’re quite active.

TELLTALE SIGNS WITH INSPECTIONS THAT OFTEN CONFIRM YOU HAVE GUESTS – WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Staining from the animals around the holes from either droppings or the oils on their coats
  • Odor, especially in the case of bats
  • Chew marks if the critter needed to make the opening larger in the case of rodents and some mammals like raccoons

MORE DETAILS ON HOW WE RESOLVE — WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Unused entries — those that exist, and we know aren’t being used, can easily be determined by cobwebs in the openings or maybe light debris such as leaves or pine needles.

These little signs help us determine where one-way doors should be installed or if we can address the spot in a more permanent nature.

It takes an awful lot of patience and determination to find all these spots and once you do, understand what is going on.

We welcome the challenge! We have the tools, we have the time, and we have the experience to stop this from happening. That kind of sounded like an infomercial!!

But seriously, we really do love doing this. To us, it is detective work… Sherlock Holmes and Nancy Drew all over! We find it fun (sometimes frustrating) to look at a situation and find out all the little secret entries and identify where the invaders are getting in…and out.

So, if you’d like to learn more about what we do or what we can do for you, just call us!

REMINDER- inspections are always free and we can discuss your concerns.
If you want to play detective, first, go check out our homeowner checklist, download it and see how many spots we listed have something going on!!
